Self-Hypnosis: Begin with a Goal in Mind
Inner strength is the subject of this self-hypnosis mini series, so let’s say you set a goal to become more self-confident.
Self-confidence is a quality of inner strength that can be nurtured and encouraged to grow.
Try this:
- Make the desire for more self-confidence scalable.
- Give the feeling of your desire a number from 0-10.
- You must want change, improvement and achievement enough to feel it.
- If you can’t feel the pull toward doing this in your body, then you’ll need to dig deeper.
- Sit comfortably in a chair and take 3 deep, relaxing breaths. That’s right, in and out…slowly.
- Now, can you remember a recent time when you felt the discomfort of your low self confidence? Perhaps you were speaking to a group or making a point about something with your partner and you didn’t represent yourself or your idea accurately?
- Give this feeling a number.
Remembering this feeling on the scale from 0-10 will help you to measure your progress as you gain confidence and inner strength.
