Self-Hypnosis: Begin with a Goal in Mind

Inner strength is the subject of this self-hypnosis mini series, so let’s say you set a goal to become more self-confident.

Self-confidence is a quality of inner strength that can be nurtured and encouraged to grow.

Try this:

  1. Make the desire for more self-confidence scalable.
  2. Give the feeling of your desire a number from 0-10.
  3. You must want change, improvement and achievement enough to feel it.
  4. If you can’t feel the pull toward doing this in your body, then you’ll need to dig deeper.
  5. Sit comfortably in a chair and take 3 deep, relaxing breaths. That’s right, in and out…slowly.
  6. Now, can you remember a recent time when you felt the discomfort of your low self confidence? Perhaps you were speaking to a group or making a point about something with your partner and you didn’t represent yourself or your idea accurately?
  7. Give this feeling a number.

Remembering this feeling on the scale from 0-10 will help you to measure your progress as you gain confidence and inner strength.
