Whenever I smell the fragrance of  lilac, I see my grandmother’s backyard. Fragrances are particularly strong anchors to your past experiences. For me, the lilac memory is positive, but not all memories elicited by smell are positive. I know, I’m stating the obvious.

Regarding anchors, in the NLP model, you can easily see that we can have positive and negative anchors. Sifting through memories and paying attention to the details can take you down a creative path to better health. You may need to get rid of some of those negative associations. How?
