NLP Portland Oregon: How Can I Tell if You’re Happy?

When I’m helping a client find their inner resources to solve a problem, for example, if they want more motivation, I’ll ask: ‘How would I know that you don’t have motivation?’

They might say: ‘ You could  see a tired look on my face, and I wouldn’t be doing whatever I thought I wanted to do.”

Next I’d say: ‘How can I tell if you are motivated?’ I’d expect you to take the time to be truly aware of yourself:

  • Your facial muscles would show an expression of alertness.
  • Your eyes might sparkle.
  • Your breathing would be strong and regular.
  • Your shoulders would be back and your posture good.

What else? Can you think of more ways to show ‘motivation’? How many little things would I need to notice about you to see that you are happy?
