You can improve your control over your emotions by learning to live with curiosity every day.

Try this:

  • When you wake up in the morning, say to yourself that you are ‘feeling grateful for another day’.
  • Notice if you have a flood or flash of images flowing through your mind. Whatever image you get should encourage you.
  • Having made a plan for this day the night before, begin going about the plan with the awareness of living one moment at a time.
  • Slowing down and noticing that you only have ‘now’ allows a richer experience.
  • Be curious about the day, in the sense that you feel open to whatever experiences come your way.
  • Appreciate your state of mind when you feel curious. It will increase your happiness.
  • With this happiness, you have more control over your emotions and can be energized by your curiosity.
