More on Performance Anxiety
To start working on your anxiety:
- Learn to breathe correctly.
- Pay attention to your posture, be aligned and grounded whether sitting or standing and take a full breath in through the nose.
- Make your exhale twice as long as your inhale. Do this at least 3 times. Make a practice of it. Correct breathing prepares your for the unknown.
- The next step is to check on your ability to visualize. This technique is important to learn. You’ll want to be able to close your eyes and see yourself as you want to be: relaxed, alert and calm. You don’t want to be too calm as some amount of adrenaline is helpful for energy and intensity. You want to be at your best and feel free to excel.
Ask Imagine Changes:
Question: Should I make up an image of myself feeling calm?
Imagine Changes: Better to think of a time you were calm, get a clear picture of it , feel what that was like and use it as the image you go to.
