Love and Marriage

Clients will talk about love and marriage as though one must inevitably lead to the other.

I understand how you may be unhappy because you aren’t married. Or you’re unhappy because your relationship hasn’t yet resulted in marriage.

It’s true that a ceremony including vows can be meaningful, but it’s also true that love has no ‘result’.

Feeling love for another is a small step or progressive condition. We fall deeper and deeper in love as time moves forward.

The moments of delight as well as the moments of quiet companionship are
more meaningful than any ceremony.

Marriage is a legal matter, necessary in many cases. But love, now that’s a different thing altogether.
