Refine Your Ability to Respond

If you recognize that many of your responses can be changed once you clarify how you’ve been responding and how you want to be responding right now, you can begin to put a finer, more complete approach toward the process.

Try this:

  1. Breathe in to the count of 8, hold for 8 and exhale to the count of 16.
  2. Repeat 3 times. Learn this as a habit, it’s useful in many situations.
  3. Recall the clarity you’ve discovered between your old and new responses.
  4. Chances are, you have been learning to eliminate fear.
  5. You’ll realize that you want to raise the bar for your experiences.
  6. Define what this means to you. Don’t complicate things, make some simple declarations.
  7. Commit to using your insights now and realize you have choices.
  8. Recognizing your ‘choices’ is an attitude where you can refine your ability to respond.
  9. Repeat this exercise daily until you feel the shifts and changes are part of you now.
