Learn to Make Better Choices
Are you feeling frustrated with the direction your life is pointed? Ask yourself if you can clearly define how you make decisions.
Most likely you can’t do this with clarity and this is a clue to your frustration and perhaps slow progress toward achieving your goals.
Learning to make better choices can be helped by the process of taking the time to relax and review your priorities.
Try this:
- Breathe in to the count of 8, hold for 8 and exhale to 16.
- Repeat 3 times. Learn to make this a habit.
- Close your eyes once you’re comfortable.
- Think about what you know about your priorities.
- Open your eyes and grab a pen and paper.
- Write down those things that are important to you.
A tip for this process: make it simple.
If you write ‘my brother is important to me’ you must ask yourself what about your brother is important…
An answer to this might be ‘caring for him’. Next you’d ask yourself what quality you posses that means ‘caring for him’. Is it love or compassion?
Now you try it…Learning this process will clarify your values and help you make better choices.
