Are you too hard on yourself? I have clients who unknowingly beat themselves up for what they perceive as their short comings.
The first thing you can do is start a journal and write daily your observations about how you treat yourself.
This will involve paying attention to your self-talk and to the way you treat yourself throughout the day.
At the end of the day, do you feel like you’ve left things undone or failed at your goals? There’s a big difference between being excited about doing more to achieve your goals at the end of the day versus being hard on yourself, having self-talk that includes self-criticism.
By paying attention, you can eventually improve your attitude and stop being hard on yourself.
