Hypnotherapy Portland, Oregon:How to Soften Toward Pain

 

 

To soften toward pain, learn and practice the breathing techniques I mention so often. Take a deep breath in, hold for a count of 4, and exhale to the count of 8.

Repeat this 3 times.

 

 

  1. Pay attention to the pain as you begin to relax. Tensing against it makes it worse.
  2. To broaden your view and take the focus off the pain, imagine your life, today, is contained in a circle in front of you. Your pain is a tiny spec in the circle of everything you are, and all that represents your life today. Imagine it.
  3.  Feel yourself become a little more distant from the pain.
  4. Only tell people about your pain (or problems for that matter) who are qualified to help. Make it a rule and you’ll be amazed at how much better you feel.
  5. Be sure to leave your home every day and interact with others. Could be a simple trip to the local grocery store. Being among people keeps you healthier.
