Listening: Where Do You Go?

Self-awareness is helpful to navigating a healthy life. Do you ever find yourself listening to someone, even a good friend, and suddenly realize you haven’t heard a word they said?

Where do you go? What do you think happens during these times? It’s enlightening to watch yourself and keep track of what you do.

When you’re not listening, are you:

  • Thinking about what you want to say next
  • Triggered by something the speaker has said
  • Daydreaming
  • Your mind is too busy to pay attention
  • Anxious and unable to focus
