Part 4: Use Self-Hypnosis to Change Bad Habits
You now know how to use both the breathing and flowing liquid techniques for your self-hypnosis inductions.
Here’s a suggestion for making a clear, concise statement to use for changing bad habits:
Let’s say you work at night and you want to change your bad habit of not getting up at the same time every morning.
- Ask yourself : What, specifically do I want to change?
- You answer: I want to get up at 9 every morning.
- Good. This is specific.
- Visualize: Place your alarm clock where you will be able to see it first thing.
- Statement: Upon waking to the alarm you’ll say to yourself: ‘I want to get up now.’
- After you’ve reached the state of relaxation you want, imagine the alarm clock as a positive trigger. When you hear it and see it, you’ll be glad to get up.
You might have a statement for your hypnosis practice that says:
I get up every morning at 9 am and enjoy the seeing the alarm and it’s sound.
After you’ve done this for a few days, you’ll be getting up and feeling great.
It’s inevitable.

- Statement
