Here is a list to help you decide for yourself if you have anxiety or you just worry too much:

 

  1. Would you agree that you feel intense anxiety every day?
  2. Do you come from a family where worry is a way of dealing with the unknown?
  3. When you have a feeling of heightened alertness, do you refer to it as anxiety?
  4. Do you talk to yourself using alarming words?
  5. Do you feel physical discomfort, like shaking or feeling like crying when you’re ‘anxious’?
  6. Do you feel a sense of control when you repeat over and over in your mind your ‘to do’ list?
  7. Can you stop yourself from thinking with ‘anxious’ or ‘worrisome’ intensity?

How you feel might not be like anyone else feels. You have to decide for yourself how much your feelings enhance or hobble your life.
