Hypnotherapy, Life Coach and NLP Portland, Oregon: Stop Telling Yourself You Have a Bad Memory

Clients tell me they can’t remember important things and the problem is having an effect on their relationships. The first thing I say is: ‘Stop telling yourself you have a bad memory’.

This seems basic enough and by not telling yourself the memory is bad, you’re ahead of the pack. Most people think they have a poor memory and often mention it.

The unconscious mind can only hear you saying you can’t remember, not that you wish you could or ought to have a better memory…just that you can’t and so it under-performs. It believes you. Please remember to take this lightly. I’m not referring to serious recurring memories of trauma or loss.

When you tell yourself that you are able to remember things and your memory just needs attention, you will begin to feel more competent.

Their are specific methods to improve various areas of memory. In the next 4 posts, I’ll write about them.

Self-hypnosis can help with recall.
