How to Work Through Feeling Overwhelmed

I often help my clients learn how to work through feeling overwhelmed.

You may be overwhelmed because of a lack of sleep, or because you just simply have too much to do. I know there are many more reasons to feel overwhelmed.

You will help yourself by writing a list of what needs to be done, no matter what the subject. Most things you do can be broken down into small steps.

Once you have a list, place a mark to the left of those things that are most important. Do only the marked things and soothe yourself by knowing you will prioritize those remaining with the next list.

You may need to ask for help. We almost always do better with our changes when we’re not alone. Enlist the help of your friends or partners and you’ll be surprised how willingly they’ll help you.

Chances are, the things you’ve needed to get done have kept you awake at night. Once you get in the habit of list-making and asking for help, you’ll sleep better.
