How to Improve Pain Relief
How to Improve Pain Relief
To soften toward pain, learn and practice the breathing techniques I mention so often.
- Take a deep breath in, hold for a count of 4, hold for your count of 4 and exhale to the count of 8. Repeat this 3 times.
- Pay attention to the pain as you begin to relax. Tensing against it makes it worse.
- To broaden your view and take the focus off the pain, imagine your life, today, is represented by a large circle in front of you.
- See how your pain is a mere dot in the circle of all you are, and all that represents your life today.
- Imagine it. Feel yourself become a little more distant from the pain.
- Only tell people about your pain (or problems for that matter) who are qualified to help. Make it a rule and you’ll be amazed at how much better you feel.
- Be sure to leave your home every day and interact with others. Could be a simple trip to the local grocery store. Being among people keeps you healthier.
Ask Imagine Changes:
Question: Can I substitute phone calls for going out?
Imagine Changes: Of course, social contact of any kind is helpful, but actually physically being somewhere other than home and interacting is most helpful.

I heard one opinion, I heard another one but finally I found something that feels right and true.
