How to Enjoy Your Life Without Comparing it to Your Past

When you come to my office for help I might ask if you want to know how to enjoy your life without comparing it to your past. The idea is to stop measuring and judging your experiences.

Your ability to shrug off the quick little references you make daily to experiences in your past involves learning the process of recognizing the feeling of the remembrance before it materializes.

By paying attention to what it feels like to make comparisons, you’ll learn what the warning signs are and once learned, you can choose a body movement to signal the release of the feeling of the memory before it materializes.

Taking a deep breath and slowly exhaling is a good example of responding to the feeling, the energy of the memory coming to you. The unconscious mind will begin to understand that you no longer want to make these comparisons without being specific.

This is a good way to get rid of knee jerk reactions.
