Help with Obsessive Behavior
I see individual clients here in Portland, OR, for hypnosis for help with obsessive behavior. From the mainstream medical perspective it wasn’t long ago that obsessive behavior was considered hopeless and only treatable with drugs.
Drugs continue to be helpful but today there is a widely accepted understanding that helping the client alter their behavior, with and without drugs has optimum results.
For the anxiety and stress that is created by obsessive behavior, I teach breathing for relaxation.
- Inhale to your count of 4, hold to the 4 count and exhale to the count of 8. Repeat 3 times.
Dr, Jeffrey M. Schwartz, of UCLA ,wrote a book called ‘Brain Lock’. His research on OCD and then implementation of his techniques form the basis for the book.
Conversational hypnosis is useful while helping a client implement, over time, the program Dr. Schwartz has created.
