Help for Anxiety

For some years now, classical musicians have sometimes used Beta-blockers, which are cardiac meds, not tranquilizers or sedatives, to help with their extreme performance anxiety. Teachers suggest the use of Propanolol to students who have an acute problem with anxiety. Propanolol blocks the action of adrenaline, keeps the heart beating slowly and dulls the sympathetic nervous system which would normally produce fear in us when we sense danger.

After researching this, I can’t blame them. I know first hand what performance anxiety feels like, and being able to ingest something that will keep the palms dry and the mind on task must be magical.

However, the best help for anxiety really is hypnotherapy.
