When my clients want to improve a skill or behavior, I ask them if they know someone who is already good at these things. I will suggest doing what you love doing.
They frequently say they don’t know anyone but after relaxing and thinking about it, they recall someone with the skills they’d like to have.
- I suggest you ask these people ‘how’ they do what they do.
- You’ll be surprised how instructive this information can be for you.
- Being open to the process of modeling someone else’s way of doing things is key to helping you create the outcomes you want.
- If you think back to a time when you did something you truly hadn’t done before, you probably recalled and modeled someone else…
