10 Ways to Use Self-Hypnosis # 2 Test-Taking and Learning About Self-Hypnosis and Quieting the Conscious Mind

Repetition is important to the success of hypnosis and self-hypnosis since you may change your mind now and then and repetition of the suggestions will convince your unconscious mind that you are serious.

It’s important to quiet the conscious mind in order to allow
the unconscious mind to learn the suggestions given it .

The very first thing to do when learning and implementing self-hypnosis is to develop an effective relaxation process that works easily and quickly for you.

I recommend you learn this:

  • Breathe in to the count of 8, hold for 8 and exhale to the count of 16.
  • The exhale is most important. Repeat 3 times and feel the comfort and relaxation.
  • If you need to relax even more to quiet your conscious mind, imagine a healing light entering through your toes and relaxing every muscle all the way to the top of your head. Be sure to do this slowly and thoroughly.

Make a recording:

When you record the following, speak normally and don’t let little mistakes stop you. The idea is to have the recording for use on a daily basis to provide repetition of your suggestions. Ideally, you’ll create and record your own suggestions once you get the hang of it.

  1. Now that I’m completely relaxed and certain that I won’t be disturbed by any of the normal sounds around me, I’m ready and open to suggestions regarding success at work.
  2. My goals are simple, my mind is active and functioning in a precise way, allowing me to succeed at anything and in particular, test-taking.
  3. I set-aside the right amount of time for study and make this a habit..
  4. Relaxing and breathing are habits I make
  5. My best strength is having a complete commitment to studying for the test.
  6. By committing myself I truly relax into total focus and total concentration
  7. I feel a new and unstoppable energy, a strong foundation of strength, courage, I easily find that both my mind and my powerful, highly effective unconscious mind can, will and in fact does understand all that it needs to, creating better memory, method and recall.
  8. I feel and I am truly and powerfully free of any and all negative past experiences.
  9. I am confident of being crystal clear and sharp during any exam with 100% recall and retention.
  10. I stay focused and free of any and all distractions, hindering tendencies and blockages from the past, easily finding myself coming back to my center  even if I’m interrupted.
  11. I am feeling so calm, so relaxed, so motivated, finding newer, better and easier ways to organize and concentrate, especially when studying.
  12. I am easily able to focus upon and absorb anything and everything I need to, developing a new and powerful interest in the work I’m accomplishing, staying right there and succeeding with ease and success.
  13. When I am taking a test I automatically say to myself: “I am prepared and can do this. I focus and I succeed.”
  14. Take a few moments to relax, then come back to my internal count of 5…4…3…2..1 feeling alert and refreshed.
