Life Coach, NLP and Hypnosis Portland, Oregon: Teach Others How You Want to be Treated

You Want to be Treated

Life Coach, NLP and Hypnosis Portland, Oregon: Teach Others How You Want to be Treated

Clients who have trouble in their relationships come to me hoping they can sort out their values and also  with the intention of improving their relationships.

Just as you might with a child, you can teach others how you want to be treated.

By making it clear through your actions how you regard yourself with respect, others will understand that what they feel from you is teaching them how you want to be treated.

It’s beyond words. You can’t tell someone these things, they have to feel it. They need to use their senses, their eyes and ears to know who you are and how you want to be treated.

Teaching how you want to be treated by being kind to someone who isn’t often kind in return can change that person.

Slowly they learn how to treat you, and then how to treat themselves.

Being mindful and using self-hypnosis is helpful.

Life Coach, NLP and Hypnosis Portland, Oregon: Self Respect

How You Think About Yourself

Life Coach, NLP and Hypnosis Portland, Oregon: Self Respect

Clients come to see me for lots of reasons, but the majority of their problems are a result of poor self-esteem.

It may take a few sessions for them to see this in themselves, but once they do, we’re on our way toward strengthening their inner resources.

You can build self-esteem by planning to live your life according to the values that you feel clear about.

When you live each day in a way that is meaningful to you, feeling self-respect is an inevitable result. I’m not talking about ego so much as clarity and action based on concrete, intentional activity.

When others are around you, they can feel your self-respect and also your healthy self-esteem. It benefits them to be enfolded in your healthy life.

Self-hypnosis and mindfulness are useful toward building the tools to live with self-respect.

Life Coach, NLP and Hypnosis Portland, Oregon: How You Think About Yourself

How You Think

Life Coach, NLP and Hypnosis Portland, Oregon: How You Think About Yourself

How you think about yourself rather than what you think about yourself is a useful question to ask because it helps you define your self-image.

Asking ‘what’ will inevitably bring about a judgment, whereas asking ‘how’ can provide you with insight and an opportunity for growth on many levels.

You might notice that asking yourself ‘how’ will give you some interesting and useful ideas about the mechanics of you.

For example, you might ask yourself:

  • How do I get the best results from studying?
  • You then realize that quiet is the best environment for you.

Self-hypnosis is valuable while considering ‘how’.

Life Coach, NLP and Hypnosis Portland, Oregon: Your Abilities

Your Abilities

Life Coach, NLP and Hypnosis Portland, Oregon: Your Abilities

What do you enjoy doing on a daily basis? Notice that I didn’t ask what you’re good at… Checking in with yourself over your abilities is fruitful only if you think you want to make improvements in that area of your life.

It is stifling to stay with only those things that ‘come naturally’. Better is to work, step by smallest step toward whatever you like or feel fascination toward.

Don’t listen to anyone else. Your abilities are your strength of resolve to listen, learn, be curious and persevere. These qualities are deeper than ‘natural ability”

Self-hypnosis is helpful toward focusing on your path.

Life Coach, NLP and Hypnosis Portland, Oregon: Choosing the Right Work

Right Work

Life Coach, NLP and Hypnosis Portland, Oregon: Choosing the Right Work

When clients come to me for help making their transition from disliking their work to finding meaningful work, I start with their values.

Values are not always clear to us and run in the background, trance-like if you don’t sit down and squarely look at what and how you have built your values.

Regarding work and values, it may come as a surprise to you that applying those values you use for your ‘life’ also apply to work. It makes sense, since we work many hours each day to keep a roof over our heads and food on the table.

What values are important to you regarding ‘work’?

Try this:

  1. Breathe in to the count of 8, hold for 8 and exhale to the count of 16.
  2. Repeat 3 times.
  3. Now that you feel more relaxed, begin to consider what’s important to you.

I would ask you:

  1. What do you value most in your daily life?
  2. If you said peacefulness, write that down.
  3. Next ask yourself if there’s anything else that stands out…
  4. You might say, feeling good at the end of the day.
  5. Good, write that down…
  6. This process takes longer than we have time for in this brief post, but the idea is to build a list of ‘feelings’ and ‘qualities’.
  7. Once you’ve built this list, check to see if there is consistency and then you’re on your way to matching your work with your true being.

Self Hypnosis is always helpful
