Life Coach, NLP and Hypnosis Portland, Oregon: Participating

Participating

Life Coach, NLP and Hypnosis Portland, Oregon: Participating

Being fully engaged in your activities is a sign of good health. Participating in your personal growth is essential to permanent change.

Questioning the current thinking or conventional wisdom about life today in your group and family is a good way to maintain a broader perspective. Your participation in this will help others as much as it helps you.

You may be like a lot of us who spend most of the day in a trance.

You can participate in an attitude of awakening by being fully aware of your trance and the desire to be alert and open.

Participation promotes accountability.

How else will you participate?

Life Coach, NLP and Hypnosis Portland, Oregon: Perception

Perception

Life Coach, NLP and Hypnosis Portland, Oregon: Perception

I find clients can be made blue by a negative perception of their lives. This might seem obvious, but depression is caused by a variety of conditions and how you perceive yourself is just one way.

Good questions to ask yourself include :

  1. Is my self-perception changed from a year ago?
  2. How has it changed?
  3. Has someone influenced my perception?
  4. Is there an activity I’m involved with that is, influencing my perception?
  5. Who else thinks my perception is a problem?
  6. What small shift in my perspective will change my perception so that I feel better?
  7. Write down your answers.

Life Coach, NLP and Hypnosis Portland, Oregon: Perspective

Perspective

Life Coach, NLP and Hypnosis Portland, Oregon: Perspective

Learning to change your perspective, your point of view is essential to changing your life.

You will find that when you develop a habit of changing your perspective, you can achieve focus and welcome new information to enhance your life.

Try this:

  1. Breathe in to the count of 8, hold for 8 and exhale to the count of 16.
  2. Repeat 3 times.
  3. Sit still with your feet on the floor in a comfortable position.
  4. Allow yourself to be aware of everything around you, using all your senses. Notice the colors, the feeling of the air in the room, notice how your body feels.
  5. What else can you notice?
  6. Now float outside yourself just to the left and up a little, we’re pretending here.
  7. What do you see as you look at yourself?
  8. You can use this technique to look at yourself in different situations. It will change your perspective.
  9. Now, look at yourself from the perspective of someone else. What do they see?

Self-hypnosis is helpful.

Life Coach, NLP and Hypnosis Portland, Oregon: One Small Shift is All it Takes

Small Shift

Life Coach, NLP and Hypnosis Portland, Oregon: One Small Shift is All it Takes

Clients are surprised when they come to work on
an issue or problem with me. They expect that we’re
going to be slogging through the difficult times of their youth…the mistakes of their adult lives and the what might-have-been of their goals and dreams.

You will be surprised to find that making just one small shift in your perspective, behavior or attitude will start you on your path of moving beyond your problem.

Change-work involves tears and laughter. One small shift or step along with learning to use the following breathing technique will bring relief.

Try this:

  1. Breathe in to the count of 8, hold for 8 and exhale to 16.
  2. Repeat 3 times.
  3. Making a habit of this will help with both relaxation and energy.
  4. Self-hypnosis is always helpful.

Life Coach, NLP and Hypnosis Portland, Oregon: You Can Control Your Impulses

Control Impulses

Life Coach, NLP and Hypnosis Portland, Oregon: You Can Control Your Impulses

Clients come to me for help with controling their impulses. They don’t always feel it’s a huge problem, not full blown OCD, but a need to quell that distraction that occurs when they give in to the quick flash of a thought that takes them away from their focus.

You are usually in a trance of activity when this flash comes upon you and the best way to deal with these interruptions is to face them head on.

Let’s say you’re reading a book and you’ve decided you want to complete 30 pages during this sitting. There you are, entranced and suddenly whoosh …a flash of ‘must call the dentist’ enters your mind.

You can counteract these impulses by saying no, I’ll call the dentist  after I’ve completed the project. Actively considering the idea and saying no.

Next time the whoosh of impulse disrupts you, say ‘no’. Train yourself to confront the bad habit and say no.

Mindfulness practice and self-hypnosis can help you with the resolve to put this ‘no’ practice to good use.
